About

Sophia Kunkel is a literature-lovin’ college sophomore at Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia. She loves nature walks, has endless enthusiasm for the Beatles, and adores her troublesome mini Goldendoodle, Bielka {the space dog}.

Sophia is also a vivacious reader and a passionate writer; she self-published her first book through Barnes and Noble Press after completing high school. Her debut chapbook, Meandering Musings, can be found on Amazon.

She is also an avid reader and a passionate writer. Currently, she has self-published her first book through Barnes and Noble Press. She also volunteers as Communications Director with The Young Writers Initiative, an organization dedicated to serving young creative minds all over the world. To Sophia, there is nothing more rewarding than allowing her actions to benefit someone in a positive way.

Additionally, Sophia’s favorite books include Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, Heartless by Marissa Meyer, and Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo, though she appreciates a wide array of reads. Check out her book recommendations in the link above!

And, lastly, she offers these parting words from Kurt Vonnegut:

“Find a subject you care about and which you in your heart feel others should care about. It is this genuine caring, and not your games with language, which will be the most compelling and seductive element in your style.”
